Peter, the staff there was very kind and helpful to help me brung my heavy baggage up and down stairs when he knew that I have hurt my back and was alone with my daughter. Also, the hotel room and facilities are very clean and tidy!
The stairs are narrow and long, the room was smaller than I expected, could harderlt move around after getting into the room with the baggage
No more than a hundred metres from paddington station, no need to mess with the luggage on the tube if you arrive to heathrow. This is all.
Room extremely small. I had read the comments before booking and thus knew that it would be small, but I thought I wouldn't really care how big it was, since we were only staying one night. Well, I was wrong. Our luggage didn't even fit in the room, in which you cannot move if you are not alone. The only way to open our baggage was to put it on the bed, but then of course, you have to get off the bed, but you cannot go anywhere. There is not enough room to open the bathroom door. Believe me, the dimensions of the room are highly depressive. In addition, the room itself was not very clean, though the cleanliness of the bathroom (which I am usually fussy about) was ok. All in all, this is not a good hotel and it is pretty much overpriced.
location was great from paddington station and hyde park
access was in between a pub and a cafe, and a very claustrophobic room and lots of flights of stairs no lift and room not very clean.
The room although small was clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well equiped with a nice shower. The receptionist/manager was a very pleasant young man.
The hotel staff amounted to one person who seemed to do everything, they need at least another person. When we arrived at about 5pm the front door was locked with a notice "back in 15 mins" on it. We went to the pub next door for a drink and returned in 30 mins, by which time the hotel was open. The receptionist/manager explained that he had to go and get something for another hotel (perhaps he runs more than one?). Clearly understaffing is a problem.
Small room, small bed - would not be appropriate for travellers who like personal space !!!
It's a very nice and quite hotel with very friendly staff... would definitley book there when i go to london again..
Location very handy for central London. Staff helpful and friendly.
Room small and some noise from nearby road.
Exelent location, the staff was very friendly.
The price was quiet high!
I was very impressed with the quality of the room. It was very clean and comfortable. Even the shared bathroom was kept in spotless condition. Staff were really friendly and very helpful. The location was perfect..in the centre of london. Was very happy with my stay there. Would definitely recommend this hotel! It is ideal for anyone looking to stay away for business as well as leisure.
The Hotel is really in the Center of London.
In upper rooms you dont have wifi, so you have to go downstairs.
Myself and a friend of mine used the hotel to have a night out in central London. And to be honest the hotel was just goin to be somewhere to go to sleep! I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was literally across the road from Paddington station so the possibility to travel anywhere in London is on your doorstep. The service was very good, we said yes to the continental breakfast which was very nice with a range of cakes, biscuits and pastries which was a good start to the morning! The room itself was very nice with an above average ensuite bathroom free-view tv and tea and coffee! I very much enjoyed my stay and would recomend the hotel to anyone wanted to stay in London on a budget.
We were transferred at no additional cost to a sister hotel around the corner called Tony's place, which was actually a nicer location. We were assisted with our baggage up 4 flights of stairs and the staff were very accommodating.
No real complaints but the room was quite small. the bathroom was definitely compact measuring 5 feet by 4 feet, but it was clean and en suite
There is no good service that I can mentioned as "like" when staying in this Metro Hotel.
There is no Hotel lift cater for guest that needs to transport heavy luggages up/down the room on all level from ground to 7th floor. "English breakfast" was not served in proper way, left outside doorway which only consist small size of 1 bun, 1 cupcake, 1 croissant and 1 small packet of orange juice and yogurt. Bed size was very small for double sharing room, TV set was not in good condition whereby some colour of images are out and sound was not clear. Room ventilation was not design to circulate fresh air into the room, causing still and warm air trapped in the room. Lastly, Hotel staff was not very friendly to guests.
The only positive thing was the location. So you can get away from it quickly as its close to paddington station if your unlucky enough to stay there.
Bed bugs! The room window couldn't be locked so could be accessed from the roof. They put in some screws to lock it, but then you couldn't open it and it was hot inside the room. Breakfast is a breadroll, crackers and cheese and yogurt and some biscuits left outside your door. To enter you have to climb up a narrow set of stairs. Sometimes the only guy on reception would pop out for a few minutes for you have to wait. But the worst thing was the beds have bed bugs. Will never stay there again. Was overpriced for what is was.
It was clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was brought right to your room. It was perfect for a few young friends traveling on a budget. Rooms are small but if you're just looking for a good place to sleep while exploring London, this is perfect. Also right next to tube station!
Not many complaints. Just know there is no elevator.
